In observance of National Library Week April 7-12, North Platte Public Library patrons can avoid paying large fines or for the cost of lost materials by donating canned food to the library.
The library will waive $1 for fines, lost materials and miscellaneous charges for every can of food donated to the library. The collected food will go to the local food pantries of North Platte and Lincoln County.
Please do not bring perishable foods, expired foods, homemade foods and no food in glass containers. Clothing will not be accepted.
