The North Platte Public Library Foundation and Keep North Platte LIncoln County Beautiful are sponsoring a "Gardens and Gables Tour" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19.
Those on the tour will be able to visit the gardens of six of North Platte's finest gardeners. The tour will also include architectural information about the homes, landscapes and plants that make up each unique garden.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be several mini-workshops at the Centennial Park gazebo.
Non-refundable tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth younger than age 18. Tickets are available from Do-It Center, Earl May Garden Center, the library, Senior Center/Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Stephanie's, True Value and Westfield Pharmacy.
Those going on the tour must begin at Centennial Park, where maps and tour locations will be available. Tour tickets will also be available Saturday at the park.
The ticket stubs are also entries into a drawing for numerous items provided by North Platte business. Of course, each item has a gardening theme.
The tour will go on whether rain or shine, so bring an umbrella and a chair.
